I am Barbara Evett, developer of this site. I have been in hi-tech for over 20 years and, during that time,
worked in engineering for many well known software companies.
I moved to the Big Island of Hawaii in 2005 and was inspired by the
serenity of island life after being ensconced in the high-energy and high-stress life of the Silicon Valley for
many years. The slower pace and laid back style of island living had quite an impact on me physically as well
as mentally. I was freed of the day-to-day hustle and bustle of city life and was fortunate
to be surrounded by the unadorned beauty of the many wonders of nature on the island.
However, as most people know, we are all facing economic hardships these days. I moved back to the mainland in late 2008 to pick up where I left off with my career in hi-tech. I do continue to enjoy the artistic outlet of designing and developing web sites, though, when not in the office at my "other" job! About my work: I am a professional who is detailed oriented, self motivated, and a perfectionist about my work. I am my own hardest critic. I'm dedicated to doing the best job I can, whether it be here on my own site or work I am doing for a client. I get excited about learning new things and web site design offers me many opportunities to do so with the ever-changing technology. I like to stay on the cutting edge and incorporate new ideas into my work. |
